Southern Indiana Rescue Effort would like you to meet Lewis, a gorgeous 6 month old blond Belgian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix that is the sweetest little 'mischief' maker ever! Weighing in at a bit over twenty pounds, Lewis is a friendly and active fellow who gets along well with other dogs and even cats...all this boy wants to do is play and he loves to cuddle and be petted. In view of his history, young Lewis is lucky to even be alive. His mom was a heavily pregnant stray dog who was was dumped in rural Warrick County and very lucky to have been found and taken in by a wonderful woman. That was fortunate indeed, because the Warrick County Animal Control has maintained a euthanasia rate of nearly 100% for as long as it has been operating, making little effort to place their charges. Lewis has been totally vetted and given all shots, including rabies; all this pup needs now is a loving and responsible family or individual to call his own! Judging from the size of his mother, Lewis will be a 'large' medium size at maturity and weigh around 40 lbs....big enough to rough house and play with your kids, but sized just right to be curled up on the couch beside you in the evening!
